Nakto Electric Bike Reviews

Electric bikes are quickly growing in popularity, and they can be a great way for people, especially city dwellers, to get around. They’re relatively cheap, and good for the environment too.

However, with this growing popularity, several different brands have started to get big quite quickly. Since they’re so new, it’s not clear to everyone who’s who and which products are worth buying.

In this article, we’re going to be looking at Nakto, a company that sells a large range of electric bikes, as well as accessories for them.

This will give you an overview of the brand, and some information that you can use to decide whether a Nakto electric bike is the right purchase for you.

Their bikes are in a few different categories, so we’ll go through them. Before that, we’ll give an overview of the range as a whole.

Nakto Electric Bike Review

Nakto is a relatively new company, having been founded in 2016. Nevertheless, they’ve managed to build up a large range of bikes for several different niches.

Their products are not extremely expensive, but they’re not cheap either. If you’re looking for a budget bike, you might want to consider another brand.

Of course, some of Nakto’s bikes are cheaper than others, but all of them have a price that reflects their solid build quality, good design, and useful extra features.

With that being said, let’s move on to have a look at the different kinds of bikes the company offers.

Nakto Folding Bikes

Folding bikes are the ultimate in convenience. They’re a bike that you can ride around the city all day, but they fold up when you need them to. This means that they don’t take up much space in your home or workplace.

It also means that you can put them in your car or even take them on public transport if you need to. This kind of flexibility is ideal in an urban environment, and Nakto’s folding bikes take full advantage of that.

The company has several folding bikes in its range, giving them options at several different price points. You can expect to go a distance of at least 22 miles from a single charge of the battery on a Nakto folding bike, and possibly even more than that. This is ideal for urban use.

The Skylark and the Fashion models each have a 250W geared hub motor, but on the Folding Ox model, this is doubled to 500W, so you can choose based on how much power you think you’ll need.

Naturally, the Folding Ox is a bit more expensive than the other two, but that could easily be worth it. The Folding Ox also has five different pedal assist levels to the other models’ one.

If you didn’t know, pedal assist is a function where the bike adds extra power to each of your presses on the pedal.

If you want more control and customizability over how your bike performs, the Folding Ox is probably the best for you in this category.

When it comes to overall size, the Folding Ox is the biggest, the Fashion is in the middle, and the Skylark is the smallest. While they’re all folding bikes, the size can make a difference.

Some people might just want to get the smallest, lightest bike possible, while others can tolerate something a little more chunky.

If you’re planning to carry it in a car at any point, it might be a good idea to check the size of that car’s trunk before you choose a bike to buy.

Nakto Mountain Bikes

There is actually only one of these at present - the Nakto Ranger Mountain. It is designed to be used in more natural environments than the folding bike range, and can also be expected to go for at least 22 miles on a single charge.

This should be enough for most people, but anyone expecting anything lengthier might be disappointed. Its LCD display can show you important information like speed and distance traveled, so you’ll know exactly how far you’ve gone and how fast you’re going there.

Also keeping you safe are the horns and headlights that can be activated with the touch of a thumb.

Like any good mountain bike, there are six different gears you can work through so that you can easily pass through any terrain, and the 5 levels of pedal assistance will help you if you’re still having trouble.

In terms of comfort, the saddle is ergonomically designed to be easy to sit on, and can also be easily adjusted to any height. The front suspension is great at absorbing shocks and will bear the majority of the rider’s weight.

Overall, the Ranger Mountain is a great option for anyone who’s looking for an eclectic mountain bike.

Nakto City Bikes

The city bike range from Nakto is pretty large, and includes two main types of bike. These are the 16” - 22” range and the 26” range.

The first of these actually includes the Skylark and the Fashion, two of the folding bikes that we looked at earlier. However, it also includes the Pony, one of the most interesting bikes in Nakto’s entire range.

Unlike the folding and mountain bikes we’ve seen so far, the Pony is designed for carrying loads through a busy urban environment. Its small wheels and light frame allow it to accelerate quickly through busy traffic.

The real draw of this, though, is that it also has a rack on the back so that it can carry large packages. This is a game changer for anyone who needs to carry boxes or packages regularly, such as delivery drivers.

The frame also allows riders of all sizes to both sit comfortably and lean as necessary as they ride. It also comes with those five great levels of pedal assistance so that, even if the load you’re carrying is really heavy, you’ll be able to get where you’re going.

To top things off, this bike is actually at the more affordable end of Nakto’s range, so you won’t need to pay a fortune for it.

Nakto’s larger city bikes are all similar in one respect - they all have a carrying basket on the front, which is ideal for holding a shopping bag or two.

This makes the bikes ideal for a quick trip to the grocery store. The Classic and the City Stroller are two that stand out in this group. They both have just the one level of pedal assistance, but that’s all you’re likely to need with bikes like this that are designed for urban use.

One of the best things about them, though, is that they look great - they have that ideal, classic bicycle aesthetic that’ll make you think of riding a bike through Paris or Amsterdam.

Aside from some minor differences in size and price, these two are very similar, so feel free to pick whichever one you think suits your frame best.

Nakto Fat Tire

They’re just what they sound like - Nakto bikes with fat tires. These bikes are also split into two subgroups - the 20” and 26” bikes. The first group contains the Folding Ox, one of the bikes that we looked at in the folding bike section.

It remains one of the most outstanding bikes in Nakto’s range. Aside from everything we said about it before, the chunky tires make it suitable for rougher terrains, so you’re not limited to keeping this one on the city streets.

It’s also worth pointing out the Mini Cruiser. It’s in the same category as the Folding Ox but, as you can guess from the name, is a bit smaller.

The battery life is a little shorter too, but it makes up for this by being even more portable while keeping those chunky wheels that let the bike go anywhere. If you’re looking for the perfect compromise between price, versatility, and portability, this might be the bike for you.

Moving on to the 26” fat tire bikes, we meet the Mini Cruiser’s two bigger brothers: the Cruiser and the Super Cruiser.

These two are both easily heavy duty enough for more adventurous outdoor activities and durable enough to take all the punishment nature can throw at them.

The Super Cruiser distinguishes itself by having a more powerful motor (500W vs 300W), a longer battery life (22 miles vs 20 miles), more torque (65Nm vs 45Nm).

Both, however, have 5 pedal assist levels to give you that extra boost to your pedaling when necessary. As you might expect, these are the two largest bikes in Nakto’s range, and they don’t fold, so if you’re looking for portability, these aren’t the bikes for you.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Nakto is one of the best electric bike companies around at the moment and their range is quite extensive. They cater to just about every niche. People looking to ride on rough terrain will find durable bikes with wide tires that can take anything.

People who are just looking for a bike to cycle around on and maybe bring their groceries home can go for one of the city bikes with a useful basket on the front.

If you’re a delivery driver looking for an ideal delivery vehicle to zip through traffic in a crowded city, the Pony is what you’re looking for. If you want something that you can fold up and carry around with you when needed, Nakto has you covered there too.

With so many options and solid build quality, Nakto should absolutely be in your thoughts when you’re looking to buy an electric bike.
